Cisco

Cisco is a wonderful company in my opinion. They are so damn good at vertical integration via Merger and Acquisitions (M&A). It just leads me to wonder why they have so much little on horizontal integrations. Each M&A process is rather tedious and requires the expertise of skilled professionals and M&A processes can be quite intimidating…skills such as negotiations, accounting & audit, investment & financial profiling etc will come into play
I was told that they have a council that rules over all projects but underneath all those protocols, i believe they actually fight alot. I asked how long they take to develop the conferencing system and the sales personnel (Joan if i did not remember wrongly) mentioned that they took more than 3 years. 3 years is a timeframe good enough for a competitor (startup or incumbent ) to just move in and disrupts cisco..can you imagine while they are on the project, they found out that someone else actually offered a similar solution to their clients? of course things are not that simple as Cisco has an established brand name and other factors do come into consideration..
There is always loopholes in MNCs and gaps that they do not wish to fill for some reasons or another…
