By the way, for people who are interested to know about Kiva, there is this very interesting article from this link: http://www.mitpressjournals.org/doi/abs/10.1162/itgg.2007.2.1-2.31
It talks about Kiva's beginnings, stories, challenges, revenue model etc.
Really an eye-opener....

thanks for the article. very descriptive, exalts the imagination and moves the soul. I have always been fascinated by how language can convey so much.... and also persuade people to do things. Yeap, tell me more of your future social entrepreneurship, yifan. =)

Hello from silicon valley,
It was cool having iLead visit our modest offices. A little clarification on IP. I believe that IP is still quite important in certain industries such as semiconductors, biotech, pharma, and medical devices. As you note, IP tends to be less important for Internet and software based businesses.

I hope you all enjoyed your visit to Silicon Valley.

If entrepreneurship were as simple and definite as mathematics, there would not be any risks and challenges. I can't remember the portfolio effect... but anyway, you got some 'unconventional' thinking, a good thing I would say. According to Mike Maples, 'Be different, not better'. =)
