Company of your internship & describe the experience: I am currently an intern in Blue Orange. Blue Orange. Blue Orange was founded in 2001, primarily pioneered their Classroom Replay™ system that using their trademarked Tri-Screen Technology, which is an automated lesson capturing and delivery solution designed to preserve the classroom learning experience for easy reviewing by the students. Their reputation in the primary and secondary school education content, which is known as MyHometutor and OLevelGuru Education Series, has grown to become a household name across the last 7 years. During the internship, I was fortunate to be able to experience the operations underlying the existing products and services, as well as the witnessing the launch of the new venture, MyHometutor Academy. The journey with Blue Orange this 7 months have been eventful, with the launch of the new venture, coupled with global economic downturn and the H1N1 pandemic. Being an intern in the small and medium enterprise allows me to appreciate the importance of being calm, flexible but decisive in executing critical measures in response to the dynamic market environment. Besides the hands-on experience in the full range of operations from technical support, marketing efforts, content creation etc, the most invaluable lessons learnt were often from the daily conversations with my boss and his employees. With the internship coming to an end soon, I am looking forward to see how the companies in the Silicon Valley differs from the local start ups in the times of economic downturn, as well as learning more about the entrepreneurship culture and its feasibility in Singapore’s entrepreneurship scene.
